Can I use wildcards for excluding folders as well? For example: test*
Wildcards only work for file name exclusion, not on folders. It is a limitation of Microsoft Windows, not on us.

Our server has to go through a proxy to connect to the Internet, any work around on your side?

I am using the built-in scheduler on a task which works well on manual mode. On time I see it pops up on the task bar for an instant but it immediately closes again. Nothing is synced and no new entries in the log. How to fix?
Please check on the 3 things:
1. The task has saved the password connecting to server.
2. There is no space in task name.

3. "Repeat time" on the scheduler set to -1. -
For scheduled task to work, do I need to leave SEClient.exe open? Or does it have something that runs on the background when Windows starts up?
You can minimize SEClient.exe to taskbar and it will run on your schedule.

Deletion of empty folders. When you've got a basic host->mirror (no bidirectional) setup happening, and you delete an entire directory including the files within it on the host setup, on the mirror it will delete the files, but not the folder, _UNLESS_ you change the 'Empty Folders' option to "Delete". However the problem with this is that it will also delete any empty folders on the Host, regardless of whether or not they are being used for something at a later point. Example: You can lose directory structure template. Please fix the program so that when an empty directory exists on the mirror but not the host, the empty directory is deleted the same as a file would -- otherwise you run into the scenario of getting to the end of a year and having a whole armsfull of empty directories sitting there confusing the heck outta you --
We understand the problem completely because we have come to that point ourselves some time ago. Like your saying there was a "directory structure template" needed to be keep in host....
We thought about adding the options to delete empty folder on Host and Mirror independently. But we find a way to get around the problem by adding a tiny hidden dummy file in each of Host's empty folder(s), so they are not empty anymore.
It may sound stupid needing to manually add this dummy file one-by-one. But many of our first time users are saying that they are confused a bit by the too many options on the user-interface... too many of them are not familiar to the ideas of data sync... most of them just want both sides to be identical. Therefore having joggled between the choices we decided to make favor to the majority people... to keep the UI as simple as possible.
We hope you will understand our choice from a bigger perspective, and find our little tip on the dummy file help you to get around the issue : )

Handling of 0 byte files. Consider this scenario: I set conditions like "Newer file in host folder" to be "HOST -> MIRROR" and "Newer file in mirror folder" to be "MIRROR -> HOST". What if the file content at host or mirror get deleted and save to 0 byte. This will also destroy the other copy of file as well. Considering enhance this option to put some kind of restriction like "only file is different than x KBytes or bytes" then it will sync. Make sense?
If a file is deleted, it becomes "exists only in XXX" condition. A problem may arise if it is of 0 byte file size. It usually happens on log files. You can save your last mirrored log files by setting to skip *.log file type.
We prefer not to add your feature suggestion. Because it will slow down the sync process drastically, considering there may be hundreds of thousands of files to be compared in a task.

I am using SCSI hard drives and your form reports an error message when trying to retrieve a hardware code for licensing.
SyncEXPnet works perfectly well on SCSI hard drive as storage device. Just it will get an error code when trying to get its hardware serial number for licensing due to the replication nature of SCSI hard drive system. SEServer.exe is unable to link its license to SCSI HDD. Therefore user with a SCSI server can only register the license with its lan card MAC number or IP address. The type of license linkage does not affect the sync performance in anyway.

Is there an option on renaming and copying the file if the same filename exist while syncing a directory rather than copying the new file and deleting the old file?
Our idea of "sync" is to maintain identical content on both sides with minimal effort. If user needs to keep a historical files it is better be arranged using optimized folder structure. Still on ad hoc basis our "preview" feature enable user to see if there is any need to rename historical files in prior to the sync action.

SEServer.exe crashes every time I try to run it. I've tried it on Windows 2003 R2 Std SP2 both 32 and 64 bit version, Windows XP SP3 and Vista 32 bit SP1. On Vista the Server somehow manages to stay alive after Windows reports it crashed. The Client runs on all of the systems. I'm using version 3.70. The application, C:syncexpnetSEServer.exe, generated an application error The error occurred on 06/03/2009 @ 11:19:38.874 The exception generated was c00000fd at address 7D63541A (ntdll!RtlReleasePrivilege)
Windows on European language setting use "," instead of ".' as decimal and float point separator. Older version SyncEXPnet (download in prior to June 10, 2009) crashes on the bug. To fix you can simply download this file < http://syncexp.net/?dl_id=3 >, rename file extension from .txt to .reg, double click on the .reg file and done.

Hi and thanks very much for your work. Several times I discovered file corruption during the sync. It shows up when I run the copy of intranet websites that I synced before. There are no error messages generated during sync or from WinXP. Are you aware of this effect? Best regards Jürgen
There should be *no space on task name*, which is a common cause of problem. Sadly it is a limitation on Windows so we have to live with it.
